This large scale private residence is a single story home that houses more than 11,000 sq feet with 16-18 foot ceilings. The goal was to add a continuity of warmth throughout in mixing wood materials while using acoustic panels to dampen the reverb noise. Carly Blalock’s surface materials were blends that contained Ostrich, Snakeskin, and Italian porcelains with glass. Taking the decorative wall panels from floor to ceiling brings the ceiling heights to a visible cue that allows the eye to see a distinction more acutely.
Working within a dark color palette with extreme pops of whites created a perfect atmosphere that the homeowners feel it wraps its arms around them in warmth without creating a cave environment. Mirrors throughout the décor give a reflective property while adding a whimsical play on shapes that move with the grouped lighting pieces in each individual setting.
